Futures Trading Journal - RISK DISCLOSURE
THERE IS RISK OF LOSS IN ALL TRADING!
This site has been prepared solely for information purposes, and is not an offer to buy or sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy or sell any security or instrument or to participate in any particular trading strategy. The information presented in this site is for general information purposes only. Although every attempt has been made to assure accuracy, we assume no responsibility for errors or omissions. Examples are provided for illustrative purposes only and should not be construed as investment advice or strategy. The information presented herein has not been designed to meet the rigorous standards set by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for disclosure statements concerning the risks involved in trading futures or options on futures. Your broker must provide that disclosure statement to you.
This web site is the personal opinion of the Futures Trading Journal (FTJ). The opinions expressed to the subscribers of FTJ are not recommendations but are based on hypothetical observations. There are many potential uses for our daily signal and a broker can help you examine those uses that are best suited for you. The past behavior may not be consistent with future performance. You should be prepared for this as the risk of losing more than you invest in the commodities or futures you are considering. Again please consult you broker regarding this matter.
HYPOTHETICAL OR SIMULATED PERFORMANCE RESULTS HAVE CERTAIN INHERENT LIMITATIONS. UNLIKE AN ACTUAL PERFORMANCE RECORD, SIMULATED RESULTS DO NOT REPRESENT ACTUAL TRADING. ALSO, SINCE THE TRADES HAVE NOT ACTUALLY BEEN EXECUTED, THE RESULTS MAY HAVE UNDER-OR-OVER COMPENSATED FOR THE IMPACT, IF ANY, OF CERTAIN MARKET FACTORS, SUCH AS LACK OF LIQUIDITY OR ACTUAL TIMING OF EXECUTIONS. SIMULATED TRADING PROGRAMS IN GENERAL ARE ALSO SUBJECT TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE DESIGNED WITH THE BENEFIT OF HINDSIGHT. NO REPRESENTATION IS BEING MADE THAT ANY ACCOUNT WILL OR IS LIKELY TO ACHIEVE PROFITS OR LOSSES SIMILAR TO THOSE SHOWN.
There have been no promises, guarantees or warranties suggesting that any trading will result in a profit or will not result in a loss. Results can and will vary between individuals. The customer is responsible for using good judgment when trading. All historical performance trading system results are not achievable in real trading because slippage and the psychological factors of a trader cannot be accurately accounted for. The records presented here are representative of hypothetical trading results of our trading system. Reasonable slippage, commission, individual emotions, levels of discipline and self-control need to apply independently to estimate the actual trading results. All trading involves high risk; past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
We must state that all Past Results are hypothetical only. Historical data figures are based on hypothetical trades that you will not be able to duplicate for yourselves. The purpose of showing you this data is not to reflect what we, or any of our subscribers, have done. The sole purpose is to track what the system did each day according to the FTJ simulated system trading. AGAIN, NO REPRESENTATION IS BEING MADE THAT ANY ACCOUNT WILL OR IS LIKELY TO ACHIEVE PROFITS OR LOSSES SIMILAR TO THOSE SHOWN. The historical data has been obtained from sources thought to be reliable, however, no guarantee of accuracy has been or is being made of such data. Hypothetical results have many limitations, some of which are described in this paragraph. No representation is being made by FTJ (nor can any other futures trading system or advisory represent by law) that it's customers will or are likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those obtained in hypothetical testing or actual past trading. Past performance is no guarantee of future results. Some of the limitations of hypothetical trading results are that markets can move fast toward open and closing of the day. Actual execution of trades placed at the open and at the close of the trading day will generally not be the same as the official open and close data recorded. This may account for greater losses or greater profits on any individual trade. Slippage can mean greater or lesser profits or losses. Market conditions are effected by many factors and are constantly changing. There is no protection or guarantee that the maximum draw down shown here for informative reasons will not be exceeded. No one has control over and, no system can account for, all such changes to the market conditions. Stops are no guarantee of protection against loss. In fast moving markets stops can be over run and may exceed the loss or profit protection that was set. This may increase, to some degree, loses associated with any historically tested system. There are many other factors that can also dramatically affect actual results. The trader's themselves are individuals. One person may choose not to take a signal, and thus not incur a significant loss, or not partake of a significant gain, which could dramatically affect the end results. The signals are purely for informational purposes only. They are made accessible to our subscribers to show how the FTJ approach the Futures market on any particular day. The signals should be consulted with only your best judgment. We do not manage money or trading accounts for our subscribers; we post hypothetical signals for our subscribers only! You would be authorizing your broker to execute these hypothetical signals and manage your account on your behalf.
Commission Rule 4.41(c)(1) applies to "any publication, distribution or broadcast of any report, letter, circular, memorandum, publication, writing, advertisement or other literature..."
Commission Rule 4.41(b) prohibits any person from presenting the performance of any simulated or hypothetical futures account or futures interest of a CTA, unless a disclosure statement accompanies the presentation. The statement describes the limitations of simulated or hypothetical futures trading as a guide to the performance that a CTA is likely to achieve in actual trading.
Commission Rule 4.41(b)(1)(i) hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain inherent limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not actually been executed, the results may have under-or-over compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity and/ or timing of an actual execution. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will, or is likely to, achieve profits or losses similar to those shown.
